BIO

Kio Griffith is a Los Angeles-based graphic designer, visual/sound artist, live video performer, curator and event producer working in diverse media. He has exhibited in galleries and alternative spaces in Japan and throughout the United States. Kio Griffith has been recognized by AIGA for design excellence and also garnered recognition from Print’s Design Annual and the Society of Illustrators for his work. Currently he is collaborating in the art / sound project team Otonomiyaki with Alan Nakagawa, Kushami with Mika Soma and Shinichi Ono, and Gray + Grey with Jon Measures.He performs on prepared guitar, alto sax and custom instruments for Department of Real Estate with Alan Nakagawa and Peter Watkinson. He is also part of the quartet The Love Ensemble founded by Ronit Kirchman. Other members are Motoko Honda and Mark Doten.

 

 

 

 

He has guest performed either visually or musically with Vinny Golia, Ulrich Krieger, Alex Cline, Dan Morris, Emily Hay, Brad Dutz, Daren Burns, Motoko Honda, Johannes Bergmark, Joseph Hammer, William Roper, Famoudou Don Moye, Anna Homler, Mitchell Brown, Johannes Bergmark, Letitia Castaneda, Becca Mhalek and others.Currently he is developing Cafemode art + music exhibit projects and the "fortyroads" traveling exhibitions. The project features assorted works by undiscovered local artists and design professionals. "Walkee Talkee" is a series of interviews spontaneously traveling from friend to friend. "Cafémode" is an art and music exhibiting project for alternative spaces.
