BIO

has exhibited in galleries and alternative spaces in Japan and throughout the United States. Kio Griffith has been recognized by AIGA for design excellence and also garnered recognition from Print's Design Annual and the
Society of Illustrators for his work.

He has shown work as a solo artist, in a collaboration or a group locally and internationally at such venues as the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Vincent Price Art Museum, Japanese American National Museum, Soundwalk (Long Beach CA), REDCAT, Track 16 Gallery, New Image Art Gallery, Rocket Gallery (Tokyo), Gallery Lara (Tokyo),Roppongi 605 Gallery (Tokyo), Mathilde Hatzenberger Gallery (Brussels), ADC Contemporary Art, Eagle Rock Center for the Arts, ResBox, Jaus Gallery , RAID Projects, Giant Robot (GR2) Gallery, Highways Performance Space and was the guest composer for the opening of the Broad Contemporary Art Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Griffith's work materializes from associations of everyday activities as ideas to map out the streams of consciousness interrelating with events from another time and space. The generated references through mixed media and digital markings resonate a range of elements from traditional folk art to contemporary graphics. Extruding from the fascination of music and noise, Griffith's work shifts toward exploratory findings of unseen language that bring it into an altered statement.
